Challenge #69 - Use My Tangle

Yay!  I actually got to the Diva challenge on time this week!  We were to use the tangle Groovy this week - a really fun tangle to use.... loved it! I was really happy with the tile that emerged from this week (from the blog post with the instructions, I was also inspired to use Sanibelle again - a bit of a revisit!).

Sadly, I've had to take down my pattern "Starburst" because it's an already published pattern ("Hemp" in Totally Tangled).  Thanks so much to Linda at tanglepatterns for entertaining it and to Karen Lynn for identifying it.  I'll keep working on a new pattern to be submitted soon!

  7. Beautiful, graceful tile! I love your "starburst" tangle, and I did a research through my rather extensive tangle library and could not find any other like it even though it looks familiar. I'm sure your tangle is soon to become a favorite!

  8. Gorgeous tangle! I've been working on that pattern myself...but haven't published...it looks exactly like some pictures I took of the underside of the dome at Epcot. Excellent!

    1. Epcot would definitely have that pattern.... I actually first noticed it in the background of a scene in TrueBlood! I was certain it would be on tanglepatterns, but turns out it's not!

  16. This is a lovely tile.

Your starburst pattern is called "hemp" in Sandy Batholomew's book "Totally Tangled" (page 11). They look the same, but the steps are slightly different and I think yours are a little easier to follow. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks for letting me know, Karen Lynn - I FINALLY had a chance to have a look at my book (I'd lent it out), and it is the same basic pattern. The end result is different (or I guess, "unfinished" if we use Hemp as the comparison) - does that make it simply a tanglation? I'm still learning the etiquette! :)
