Sadly, I've had to take down my pattern "Starburst" because it's an already published pattern ("Hemp" in Totally Tangled). Thanks so much to Linda at tanglepatterns for entertaining it and to Karen Lynn for identifying it. I'll keep working on a new pattern to be submitted soon!

Challenge #69 - Use My Tangle
Yay! I actually got to the Diva challenge on time this week! We were to use the tangle Groovy this week - a really fun tangle to use.... loved it! I was really happy with the tile that emerged from this week (from the blog post with the instructions, I was also inspired to use Sanibelle again - a bit of a revisit!).

very pretty! i still cannot do that sanibelle - even though i love how it looks - when someone else does it :). these patterns go great together. thanks for posting the starburst steps. i will have to try that!
ReplyDeleteYour pattern choices are perfect! I love the starburst!, thanks for the steps. Sanibelle and Groovy, they all come together to make a gorgeous tile!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful. They fit together perfectly. Thanks for posting the tangle instructions. It's a really great one especially when you add the shadows. I'll have to try it.
ReplyDeletewow, super combining those three patterns! love 'n greetz, Ellen
ReplyDeleteYour 'sanibelle' is so graceful and I love how it extends beyond the corner. Great shading. I think you may have a new tangle here...congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Fingers crossed that it's new!
DeleteVery nice, and thanks for the instructions for Starburst. Can't wait to try it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, graceful tile! I love your "starburst" tangle, and I did a research through my rather extensive tangle library and could not find any other like it even though it looks familiar. I'm sure your tangle is soon to become a favorite!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tangle! I've been working on that pattern myself...but haven't published...it looks exactly like some pictures I took of the underside of the dome at Epcot. Excellent!
ReplyDeleteEpcot would definitely have that pattern.... I actually first noticed it in the background of a scene in TrueBlood! I was certain it would be on tanglepatterns, but turns out it's not!
DeleteSimple and elegant and another tangle to learn. Yipee!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful in combination. It is so beautiful and dimensional.
ReplyDeleteHi Steph, could you contact me at my email. some questions, thanks
ReplyDeleteLOVE the new tangle. Thanks for the instructions:) And your shading on Groovy really makes it pop!
ReplyDeleteLove your positive-negative thing with the groovies! The shading is very nice. I love sanibelle, too!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, and I like your Starburs tangle creation. Thanks for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteI favor the geometric patterns, so Starburst is right up my alley. Thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely tile.
ReplyDeleteYour starburst pattern is called "hemp" in Sandy Batholomew's book "Totally Tangled" (page 11). They look the same, but the steps are slightly different and I think yours are a little easier to follow. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for letting me know, Karen Lynn - I FINALLY had a chance to have a look at my book (I'd lent it out), and it is the same basic pattern. The end result is different (or I guess, "unfinished" if we use Hemp as the comparison) - does that make it simply a tanglation? I'm still learning the etiquette! :)
